The first tourist activity run by the Cipriani family, used to be called boarding-house Concordia and it was situated in Marconi Avenue. Later on in the 50s they began to build the Hotel Cipriani,where previously was Villa dei Pini. In a first moment it was called boarding-house Concordia in honour of the founder of the Sister Institution of Miramare, Don Masi who used to own a place with the same name. Afterwards from 1959 on, the hotel goes trough different managers. First under the name of Boarding-house Giusy it becomes a holiday hotel for the employees of the company Standa of Milano, then after 4 years, it is managed by a family coming from the Romagna hinterland.
During these years, urged by the strong tourist growth the hotel goes under enlargement and slowly comes to the actual size.
Though the Ciprianis owned at the time other tourist activities to follow, they took part actively to the different changes of the hotel.
In particular they managed in order to join the close coffee-bar to the building so becoming the best window on Oliveti Avenue.
Starting from 1992 the Cipriani family becomes the manager and they devote themselves to the re-qualification of the hotel. And thanks to Mr. Giovanni together with his familiars that begins the big transformation of the Hotel dei Platani that will be numbered forever among the best hotels of the Riviera.
